No treatment.
Persistent galactorrhoea following specialist referral and investigation.
Bromocriptine
Bromocriptine 2.5mg tablets
Initially 1.25mg daily, dose to be taken at bedtime, increase dose gradually; usual dose 7.5mg daily in divided doses, increased if necessary up to 30mg daily.
Prescribing Notes:
- Most cases of galactorrhoea are mild and resolve spontaneously.
- Bromocriptine can be useful for patients with persistent galactorrhoea following specialist referral and investigation. Consider drug causes e.g. chlorpromazine, metoclopramide.
